Thx ACSOL for picking this story up. I’ve tried contacting this boys parents to offer them some support, but they’ve not returned my call. Horse play is a necessary ,interaction among young males and while that can certainly go too far mostly feelings get hurt and implicating it as sexually deviant is plain fruitless. I worry about this kids future. Who benefits from forging felons from those who are not?

“Dane County District Attorney Ismael Ozanne said the decision to charge _____as an adult was because of his age.”

It’s interesting how when they’re prosecuting a minor, “close enough” seems to be good enough to side-step that legally you’re an adult at 18. But the same isn’t extended when they’re prosecuting a 19-year-old for being with a 17-year-old.

I seriously don’t understand how our laws work with law enforcement allowed all this fluidity which isn’t extended to the public?

A weak, evasive use of the passive voice by the prosecutor, “the charges are what they are”… as if, like numbers from a lottery ball juggler, no human decision involved. Grow up! At least say something to the effect of “It was our office’s decision to pursue these assinine charges and to dump the @#&% on me to prosecute it. And we greatly regret this matter has caught the attention of the media, as we’re now damned if we do and damned if we don’t!”
ROFL! Oh, I think I just tickled my own funnybone*! (*Not a euphemism!!)
